The Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA) envisions a world where all infants have access to human milk through the support of breastfeeding and use of pasteurized donor human milk. HMBANA is leading a W.K. Kellogg-funded project to reduce racial disparities in use of pasteurized donor human milk nationwide.
What we’re working on:
1.
Conduct an internal equity audit with HMBANA member milkbanks.
2.
Collect and analyze data on the provision of pasteurized donor human milk to America’s Essential Hospitals with Level III & IV NICUs.
3.
Work to achieve universal reimbursement of pasteurized donor human milk to ensure all infants and families who would benefit from it are able to gain access.
